Meet the Executive Committee.

  Rachel Beebe, Secretary   Rachel Beebe is a wife and mother of two elementary school-aged kids, Rachel has lived in Bed-Stuy for five years. Growing up in a rural Vermont town instilled in her the value of community and she’s seen that borne out in Bed-Stuy, where strong community ties are a big part of what make the neighborhood great. Rachel holds an MA in Critical Theory and Cultural Studies and believes that is our responsibility to make our public schools great and to ensure that they provide all children with an excellent education.

  Shana Cooper Silas   Shana Cooper-Silas   is wife to Earl Silas and mother to daughters Taylor and Kory ages 5 and 3 respectively, living out her dreams in Bed-Stuy Brooklyn. When she is not nurturing her loved ones at home she is busy creating digital products and food experiences like Octavia’s opening soon on Malcolm X Blvd.

  Imran Khan   Imran Khan serves as a director and policy/programs advisor within the Mayor's Office of Operations. In his current role, he works on design, implementation, and evaluation of Young Men's Initiative (YMI) workforce, youth, and education development programs. Originally from Houston, TX, Imran currently lives in Bed-Stuy with his wife and two children.

  Virginia Poundstone, Co-Executive Director   As a visual artist, adjunct professor and bookkeeper, I bring set of useful skills to the table: financial record keeping, budgeting, and project/production management. I envision BSPC as an organization that helps strengthen the district's public schools through strategic planning, fundraising and advocacy.

  Neil Wynter, Treasurer   Neil is passionate about the welfare of our District 16 children and will work to ensure that they get an equal shot! Neil started his career working at startup companies in the dot.com era and now works as an IT professional in the financial industry.  Born and raised in Toronto (Tdot!), Neil, his wife and two kids have made Brooklyn their home for the past 10 years.  A technology hub in Bed-Stuy is what he envisions.
